What is up on this fine
day in Clemson, South Carolina on the twenty eighth of March? I am having a
wonderful day as I have finished all my classes and I have no homework! I have
always thought that one of my favorite bands, Reliant K said it best in one of
their song when they said “I have never broken bones with a stone or a stick,
but I can conjure up a phrase that can cut to the quick.” This picture
resonates the theme of that line given in the previous sentence. This is
showing a man supposedly screaming and a fist coming out of his mouth hitting a
woman in the face. This is an ad for stopping verbal abuse and the ad is
portraying that verbal abuse can be just as horrific and damaging as physical
abuse. The arm punching the woman represents the intense pain that can be
caused by words. One thing I question is why it is always a man abusing a
woman. I may not get out enough but I never see a woman abusing a man in an ad
even though there are plenty of relationships that are like that. I just think
it needs to go both ways. Another element used in this ad to represent sadness is
its cold and bland colors giving you a depressing and morbid look on the scene.
I hate abuse and violence no matter its form. As this ad portrays, no matter
verbal or physical, it is just as damaging no matter its form. Bullying is a
big problem in schools and I was a victim of bullying and sadly a bully myself.
But I learned from my mistakes and have treated people with love. People need
to stick up for victims of bullying and make a world a better place.

Blog 7
Hey clase, what is good on this fine evening of the seventh
of March on the year of two thousand and fourteen anno Domini. My project 4 is
going well. Did you know that Prius’ are not as efficient as you think they
are? They are actually less efficient than a Hummer according to the research I
have done. Isn’t that crazy?! All these high and mighty Prius owners driving
around, thinking they are saving the environment when in reality, they ARE
DESTROYING EVERYTHING. And did you know the sentence, “All the faith he had had had had no effect on the outcome of his life.”
Is grammatically correct? Crazy huh. The English language is kind of messed up
but it is all good. It is still my favorite language to speak! Anyway,
now it is time for some identifying rhetoric in advertisements! Hip hip hooray!
Now this is a picture of a man in a row boat with Bose noise
canceling headphones on while he is about to swim off of Niagara Falls. The
ethos in this is that Bose is already a respectable company and this ad just
proves Bose’s credentials in that you can wear their headphones and you will
not be able to hear the loudness of Niagara Falls. Those headphones must be
amazing. Just do not wear them on a river, while skiing or anywhere unless you
are sedentary and are in no trouble of running into something. I am definitely getting
a pair of these headphones. Mostly because my roommate snores unbelievably loud
and it keeps me awake all night. I cannot stand it! So if I can get a pair of
headphones that can cancel the noise coming from Niagara Falls, then those
headphones are the headphones for me. Bose has my business for sure now.
